Intensive Registration Process

Get started here!

What is Registration at NAPA?

Registration is the process families use to book one of NAPA’s 3-week intensive therapy programs. Because these sessions are highly personalized and in high demand, registration helps us manage availability, match families with the right therapists, and ensure each child receives the care that best fits their needs. Planning ahead is essential, as spots fill quickly.

Rolling Registration

Starting with the 2026 calendar year, we’ve shifted to a rolling registration model. Instead of opening all session dates at once, we’ll break the year into three smaller enrollment periods, each focused on a specific part of the year. This means you’ll register for sessions closer to when you plan to attend, rather than needing to book a full year in advance.

Steps to Complete Registration

STEP 1: Complete an Interest Form

If you’re new to NAPA, your first step is submitting an interest form directly from our website. This gives our team the basic information we need to get to know your family and begin the process of connecting you with the right care. Once we receive your form, you’ll get an email with a personalized link to complete your intake.

Have questions before you’re ready to dive in? You’ll also have the option to schedule a discovery session with our Client Experience team. It’s a chance to ask questions, learn more about what to expect, and make sure NAPA is the right fit for your family before moving forward.

STEP 2: Complete Your Intake

The intake process is an important step because it helps our therapists understand your child’s history, goals, and needs so we can build the right plan for them. Take your time filling it out thoroughly — the more we know, the better we can serve your family.

After you submit, our team will review your intake and be in touch within two weeks. What happens next depends on the type of program you’re interested in:

  • Intensives: Our therapists will review your intake and determine whether your child is a candidate for our intensive program. Your intensive coordinator will reach out once recommendations are ready, and you’ll be able to review them directly within the Ocean Friends app.
  • Weekly sessions: A coordinator will reach out to either schedule your first session if availability allows, or place you on the waitlist if not. Waitlists do move, so don’t be discouraged.
  • Both: If you’re interested in both intensives and weekly sessions, our team will guide you through each path.

STEP 3: Download Ocean Friends and Log In

Once your intake is complete, you’re ready to download the Ocean Friends app, available on both iOS and Android. Ocean Friends is our client portal where you can view current intensive availability, manage appointments, and stay connected with your care team, all in one place.

To log in, simply use the phone number you provided when you submitted your interest form. No separate account creation needed. You’re all set.

2027 Intensive Registration

Our registration process for 2027 intensive therapy sessions will continue with the rolling enrollment model introduced last year. Rather than a single annual registration window, we offer three smaller enrollment periods throughout the year, making scheduling more flexible and allowing you to register closer to your preferred session dates.

Each enrollment period uses the lottery-based system we have established in previous years. All submissions received during a registration window are entered into a randomized selection process, rather than being processed on a first-come, first-served basis. This approach ensures a fair and equitable opportunity for all families, regardless of when they submit their registration within the window.

Registration FAQ

Do we register in the Ocean Friends portal?

Yes, all families will register through the new Ocean Friends portal during the enrollment period. Each enrollment period uses a lottery system, meaning submissions received during that time are entered into a random selection process.

Do I need to register if I’ve already attended intensives?

Yes, registration is required even if you have attended or registered in past years. Each enrollment period is separate and offers new session options, so a new registration is necessary every time. This applies regardless of your previous placement, attendance, or waitlist status.

Besides filling out my Intake Paperwork, what should I do to prepare?

Before registration opens, review the full 2026 intensive registration to check what dates will be available when. We accept ONE form per patient, unless you would like to attend sessions in multiple countries. In that case, you will need to submit a form for each country.

Does submitting multiple registration forms improve my chances of getting a spot?

Filling out multiple forms does not help your chances of getting a session and creates more work for our team. Only one form per country will be accepted.

Does Registration guarantee my spot?

Submitting a registration form is a request for an intensive that also lets us know your preferences. Filling out this form in no way guarantees you a session or any preferences. We do our absolute best to accommodate your requests but due to the volume of families, all with specific preferences and scheduling needs, meeting even your most preferred request is not always possible.

What happens after I'm invited to a session?

Once you hear back from us, you'll head to the Ocean Friends portal to accept or decline your spot. If you accept, your spot isn't confirmed until you submit a $1,000 deposit, which is non-refundable. We recommend submitting it as soon as you're able, since your place in the session depends on it.

Are there less popular sessions that are easier to get a spot?

Our availability is balanced throughout the year, with the exception of our most popular months, June and July. If your child isn’t in school, we recommend considering sessions outside of the summer months and registering for the time that works best for your schedule.

I was waitlisted. How did I not get a spot?

We have a limited number of spots and a few thousand families who will be registering for these spaces. Unfortunately, we can’t offer every family an intensive due to the volume of applicants. The good news is our waitlists move!

Deposit and Cancellation Policy

Once you are booked into a session, we will request a $1,000 deposit which goes towards your session grand total. Although deposits are non-refundable, a portion may be eligible to be credited to a later intensive date per the criteria below.

61+ Days prior to the session start date:
• You may transfer your intensive deposit to another session but will be charged a $100 cancellation fee.

31-60 Days prior to the session start date:
•You may transfer your intensive deposit to another session but will be charged a $500 cancellation fee.

0-30 Days prior to the session start date:
• We are unable to transfer any amount of your deposit. The balance of any payments made for this intensive can be transferred to another session.

Within an intensive period:
• Should you decide to cancel or not participate in any of your intensive sessions, a $60 cancellation fee will be charged for each session missed.

If we need to pull your family from the schedule due to non-payment of the remaining balance the $1000 cancellation fee will apply.

I'm currently on the waitlist for this year, do I need to register again for next year?

Yes, you will need to submit a new registration form each enrollment period as the waitlist does not rollover.

Each registration is a new chance to get an intensive spot with us.

Does advanced registration guarantee your therapy team preferences?

Your therapy team is not confirmed until 30 days prior to the session start date when the final schedule is released.

For consistency purposes, we do our best to schedule your child with therapists they have worked with in the past, but we cannot guarantee that each of your therapists will be available during the full three-weeks of any particular session.

Similar to you, our therapists have family emergencies, become sick, or need a vacation from time to time. We will do our absolute best to inform you of any schedule changes well in advance. If one of your therapists is out during a portion of your session, we will provide you with your alternate schedule 3-4 weeks prior to the start of the session.
