Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive medical treatment in which a patient breathes oxygen at a higher level than atmospheric pressure in our soft-shelled chamber enhancing the body’s natural healing process.
During Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in the controlled total body chamber, your child receives 10 to 15 times more oxygen than normal, enhancing the body’s natural healing process. Oxygen is typically transported throughout the body by red blood cells. However, with HBOT therapy, it’s dissolved into all of the body’s fluids, plasma, lymph, bones, and can be carried to areas where circulation is diminished or blocked.
This allows the oxygen to reach damaged tissues and the body can support its own healing process. The increased oxygen enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling, and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly into the affected areas.
