Elena developed a passion for Speech and Language Therapy through providing respite care and working at a special school. Before coming to NAPA, she was a speechie within the Early Intervention sector in New Zealand, supporting children with complex needs. Elena is a strong believer in the power of connection and the importance of seeing the potential in every child.  She loves working alongside children and their families for many reasons, but mainly because this allows for lots of learning opportunities, creativity, and most importantly fun! 

Elena’s areas of special interest include Alternative and Augmentative Communication, dysphagia/feeding development, early language development, and disability advocacy. When not at NAPA, Elena enjoys hanging with her family, embroidery, reading good books, and exploring the local food scene.
