Jocelin obtained her Bachelors of Science in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in Family and Community Contexts from California State University of Fullerton. She pursued this field after watching her younger brother struggle with academic and emotional problems. Seeing the lack of support from school personnel due to living in an under-resourced community inspired her to study child development and learn about different ways to assist her brother’s development and behavior. Prior to working at NAPA, she worked for different non-profit organizations where she provided tutoring services, mentoring services, and access to different resources for minority families (e.g., cooking classes, baby development classes, FAFSA & college applications, scholarships, food
banks, housing assistance, etc.). During this time, she gained valuable experience and provided vital support to children of different ages as well as to their families. Due to her empathy and passion for helping others she aspires to further her education and pursue a Masters of Social Work to become a school social worker. When she is not at NAPA, she enjoys going on hikes and exploring different coffee shops. Jocelin is very excited to provide support, create meaningful connections, and grow with her colleagues and the children and families who attend NAPA.
