Tanael grew up in Venezuela, where she earned her Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree. She worked several years at Venezuela’s largest brewery, Empresas Polar. Quickly recognized for her talent, Tanael was selected as the first woman the brewery sponsored to study Brewing Science in Germany, where she earned her Master of Biotechnology Engineering with focus on Brewing Science from the Technical University of Berlin. In 2015 Tanael decided to emigrate due to the political and economical instability of the country and moved to the US. In 2018 Tanael’s dream of becoming a mother was made true. Her son Nathaniel changed her life and priorities. Nathaniel was born with Down Syndrome and Tanael, supported by her family, decided to dedicate all her efforts to help Nathaniel thrive in life. In November 2020, Tanael was offered a remote position to work with the Utah Department of Health as a COVID-19 Contact Tracer. Motivated by her desire to help people and contribute to slow the curve of growing cases. In May 2022, Tanael and her family moved from Utah to Massachusetts seeking better opportunities for their son. Nathaniel attended an intensive program at NAPA Center in November 2020 and since then Tanael learned that her goals are aligned with NAPA’s values and mission.
